Honey Cashew Granola Recipe

This granola recipe is great after a nice morning bike ride, or as a snack as you hike through the mountains. You will enjoy the crisp crunch of this granola recipe and the nutrients it contains will provide energy to your body. I love the outdoors - hiking, fishing, biking, etc. Before I go out hiking or whatever, I cook up a batch of this excellent granola recipe, because it is a fast, easy snack to help me keep my energy up. This recipe also delivers protein, fiber, vitamin E, folate, phosphorous, and other important nutrients, which your body needs to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.

Granola Recipe Ingredients:

  • 8 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups wheat germ
  • 8 ounces shredded coconut
  • 1 1/2 cups sunflower seeds or cashews
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Granola Recipe Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. In a large bowl mix sugar, oats, wheat germ, cashews, and coconut
  3. Heat honey, vanilla, and oil until bubbling
  4. Pour liquid mixture over dry mixture, mixing thoroughly
  5. Spread granola evenly onto 2 large cookie sheets
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown
  7. Allow to cool

This is a simple, quick-cooking granola recipe which contains all the goodness you expect from a healthy granola.
