Honey Almond Granola Bar Recipe

Here is my favorite granola bar recipe. This granola bar recipe is great because not ony are the bars filling, but they are easy to enjoy when you are on-the-go. I keep some of these granola bars in my car, and when I am running late for work I do not worry because I just enjoy a granola bar on the drive which not only saves time, but keeps my body healthy and strong. After making this granola bar recipe, my wife keeps a few in her purse wrapped in plastic, so she can always have a healthy snack around to maintain her blood-sugar levels. This granola bar recipe is great, because when you are done, the granola bars make an easy to transport, healthy snack that does not make a big mess.

Granola Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup almonds, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup oat bran
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Granola Recipe Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine oats, bran, cinnamon, and almonds in large bowl mixing well
  3. In another bowl mix oil, honey, vanilla extract, and almond extract
  4. Pour liquid mixture over dry mixture, stirring together thoroughly
  5. Press mixture onto baking pan in rectangle 7x9-inches
  6. Bake 12 minutes
  7. Cut into bars
  8. Bake an additional 3 to 5 minutes, until golden
  9. Place on wire rack to cool
