Camping Granola Bar Recipe
My son and I love to camp, and whenever we are planning a camping trip we always get Mom to whip up a batch of these delicious granola bars. This granola bar recipe makes delicious granola bars which are great for our camping trips because the granola bars a so easy to carry in our packs. This granola bar recipe gives us the energizing food we need to keep our energy up through a vigorous hike and camping trip, as well as providing our bodies with important nutrition. This granola bar recipe is great for vigorous outdoor activities, but also make a great snack to keep in your desk drawer at work to help you get through the long work day. Whatever you use them for, this granola bar recipe is sure to satisfy.

Granola Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 1/3 cups granola
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup cranberries, dried
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp salt
Granola Recipe Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease 9x9-inch square pan
- Combine creamed shortening, eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in large bowl, mixing very well
- Boil cranberries in water for 10 minutes
- After draining water, dice cranberries
- Add cranberries to egg mixture
- Stir in white flour, wheat flour, baking powder, walnuts, and salt, mixing well
- mix in granola
- Spread evenly into baking pan
- Bake 23 minutes until golden
- Allow to cool
- Cut into bars
